Math Tutor Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley/Costa Mesa/New Port
Why Choose Me as Your Math Tutor?
I've been teaching and tutoring mathematics for so long that I guarantee I can help you immediately!
First, who the heck am I and how did I end up being a "math teacher / math tutor"? Well, I graduated from Leuzinger High School in 1986 and went to CSULB for my undergraduate degree in mathematics, graduated 1992. I was very bad at math in middle school and I was placed into the slow 2 year Algebra class in high school. I had the most amazing teacher, Mr. Hatcher, and he changed my life. It was because of his love for math and "easy to understand" teaching style that I set out to change lives too!!! I earned my clear credential in mathematics at CSUSB, and I then was hired immediately and taught middle school mathematics at Rialto Middle School until 1997. I moved to Orange County, where I was hired by Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District and taught at El Dorado High School from 1997-2023.
In 2008 I went back to school and earned my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. My Master Thesis was about how to help students overcome their math phobia and test anxiety.

... Even though I'm retiring, I still love math and helping students overcome their math anxiety. I have had former students become math teachers themselves and I'm so very proud to have turned many hearts around regarding math.

I currently live in Huntington Beach with my husband, and I have 2 grown children in college. As a mother, I know how frustrating it can be to have your child struggle to do well and enjoy math. I hope you will let me help you and your student improve their grade and find success in their future math classes.
